Greetings to All. This is Vijayakumari. I am hailing from Periyakuppam, a place near Mt.Valli. After completing my higher secondary education, I had no future plans and was idle out there at home for a while. A housekeeping staff from Karigiri hospital advised me to join nursing course out there. We were financially unstable at that point of time and I had no support from my alcoholic father as well. My family situation was worse then. Out of my Mother’s toil, I managed to join Diploma in Nursing, 2011 batch in Karigiri hospital.

I was not good at English when I joined the course. Out of help and support rendered by my lecturers, I equipped myself with some proficiency in English and was able to read and write in short span of time. My father passed away a year later.  Though dejected by my relatives, my mother’s perseverance motivated me to work hard for the betterment of my future and with the blessings of Lord Almighty I successfully completed my course and graduated in the year 2015.

When I returned home after completing my studies, we experienced hardship for even a single meal per day and there was no proper shelter to live in where we managed to live in a shack. Lord Almighty paved me a path thrive in this world by providing me an opportunity to work in CMC hospital. I joined as a CBT student on Jul 25, 2016. A week later my hut got damaged and ripped apart due to heavy rain. With the help of my father’s settlement amount from LIC and savings during my internship, I started to reconstruct our house. We moved to our new house on March 18th, 2017.

I was appointed as a staff nurse in CMC hospital. I managed to sort out the problems we had one by one. Now am in a position to help out people who are battling in their life to meet their daily needs. Hope my testimony will motivate people to face all the future hardships in life with strong grit. Praise the Lord. Thank you.
