The Dental department at Paul Brand Integrated Health Centre (PBIHC) at Katpadi was made functional on 23rd July 2005 when the IHC was started. Since its inception, the clinic has been run by skilled and efficient dental surgeons. Dr Edward Newton Dhas was the first dental surgeon who started the department. His administrative skills helped build it the department as a centre of excellence. He was joined later on by Dr Merlin, who helped provide holistic dental care to patients. A dental clinic was also started at Gudiyatham in 2008 which was manned by Dr Divya. The dental department briefly shifted to main Karigiri Hospital in 2011 where Dr Osborn Abel and Dr Evelyn further improved dental services and dental outreach to patients. Dr Mary Sarojini took over the reins of the department in 2018 and continued administering dental care.

Our current dentist, Dr Alpana Andrews, is a specialist in Periodontics, a branch of dentistry that deals with diagnosis and treatment of gum disease. She is ably assisted by Ms Nimmi S, a dental assistant who has been with the department since 2009. The current department at PBIHC has two dental chairs and provides a range of dental services across all age groups. The clinic is open from 8am to 4:30 pm on weekdays and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturdays.
